Albany - Jane Weir Damino, 94, a lifelong resident of Albany passed suddenly on Saturday, December 28, 2013. Jane was born to Henry and Florence Weir on January 1, 1919. She graduated from Milne High School and Albany Teacher's College, class of 1942. She taught Elementary School for several years, then married the late Horace A. Damino, a childhood sweetheart. She worked at the Watervliet Arsenal during World War II while her husband, a marine, did a tour of duty in the Pacific. Jane was a devoted member of the United Presbyterian Church. She was an artist who showed her work at the Stockades in Schenectady. She loved cats and had several as pets. She played the piano and was a banjo player on the Arthur Godfrey radio program as a young adult. She also was a literacy volunteer tutor. Jane loved life. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon; four sons, John, James, Don and Richard. Her only sister, Elizabeth resides in Arizona. Jane also has seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Interment will be in the spring at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Colonie. We love you. May you fly to that peaceful valley and wait for us there.
