Obituary of Joan M. Plue

Guilderland - Joan Green Plue, 80, died Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at the Our Lady of Mercy Life Center. Born in Pittsfield, MA, Joan lived in Voorheesville for most of her life and in Altamont before moving to the nursing home. She was a homemaker and loved children. In Voorheesville, she was known as "Aunt Joan" by the many children she used to babysit for. In the nursing home, Joan made many friends and was known as the "dant de dant da" lady and her family would like to thank the nurses and staff for the loving care provided to her during her stay. Joan was the wife of the late Paul C. Plue; mother of Barbara Johnsen (George), Mark Plue (Alice), Steven Plue and Christopher Plue, all of Altamont; grandmother of Denise Johnsen, Eric Johnsen (Heather), Amanda Hand-Plue, Joan Plue, Nathan Plue, Crystal Plue, Nicholas Plue, Zachary Plue and Victoria Plue; great-grandmother of Alexandria Johnsen, Ashley Mihalek and Gemini Ray; sister of the late Robert Green; and sister-in-law of Diane Green. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 28, 2013 at the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Voorheesville. Calling hours will precede the service, from 9 - 11 a.m. Burial will be in Memory's Garden in Colonie.
