Voorheesville - John D. Stansfield, 86, of Voorheesville died Sunday, September 1, 2024 at the Teresian House Nursing Home in Albany. Born in Ludlow, England, John was the son of the late Jean Donning and Leonard Stansfield. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in the early 1960’s. He was employed as a Machinist and retired from Atlas Copco in Voorheesville. He was an enthusiastic golfer and bowler and was a member of the Voorheesville Rod & Gun Club, the Voorheesville American Legion and the Voorheesville Cultural Society.
John was the husband of Roberta Lowe Stansfield; father of Rhonda Stansfield (John) of Scotia and David Stansfield (Lisa) of Berne; stepfather of Kimberly Decorah (Chris) of Delmar and Donald Matthews of Voorheesville; grandfather of Brandon, Matthew, Ryan, Justine, Tyler, Lindsey and Kyle; and brother of Hilarie Wells (Marty) of Davidson, NC.
Private funeral services will be conducted at the convenience of the family.
