A caring lady I met on a holiday in Scotland. Both Alice and Thomas befriended me on the coach trip and we continued emailing across the miles(I live in Tasmania Australia). we hoped to meet up again, but nature intervened and it wasn’t to be. She will be greatly missed

I am grateful for having known Awesome Alice. She had a gift for seamlessly shifting between being one of the girls having adventures and supporting you like a mom with a knitted sweater or sage advice. I am truly sorry for your loss and thinking of all of you. Love, Camille

We first met Alice relatively recently on our trip to Australia in October 2019, we hit it off immediately and quickly became friends. After Covid we made plans to visit Alice & Tom in the US in 2022, we met in NY and had a great couple of days seeing the sights. We took the train to Albany for a few days, but unfortunately sickness changed our plans and we stayed with Tom & Alice for almost 2 weeks before flying home. During that time there was no end to their kindness, support and hospitality. In 2023 we invited ourselves to join them on a cruise they were planning to Norway in October after traveling to the UK to see family in Clydebank, they were thrilled for us to join them and thankfully we did get see the Northern Lights together. 2024 saw Alice & Tom travel again to the UK arriving in Southampton in style on the Queen Mary 2, and following a visit with family we were delighted to host them in Lincoln, UK and to repay their kindness, we had lots of food, Pino Noir, Chardonnay, laugh’s and trip’s out showing them the highlights of our local area, including Fish & Chips in our local village pub.
Alice had the ability to say and do absolute good, spontaneously. Her vitality for life was immediately apparent to all who met her and we were all the better for having done so. I know that Alice had all the valued qualities which we recognised as being the same as Karen’s late mum. In so many ways they were uncannily similar, full of love and care for their families and close friends. Nothing gave Alice more pleasure than to help someone or to make their day, not with massive gestures but with small acts of kindness which quite simply said, ‘I care’
Alice will be sorely missed by us and everyone who knew and loved her and our lives were all the better for it, it was an immense privilege to have known her, rest in peace Alice x

To our Great Aunt Alice. We will never forget the time at your house. You learnt us how to swim, how to ride a bike, make chocolate balloons and eat corn on the cob the best way by smearing butter all over them using your ceramic butter soldiers.
Thank you for the birthday cards that you always sent us each year with your amazing handwriting.
We will treasure these times forever.
Lots of love Amelia x & Sophia x

Q: What will you never forget about Alice?
A: Alice was the fastest walker I have ever met. Will never forget the crossings 5k she did with Elijah and how he couldn't keep up. ALWAYS kept going even if she was stuck in mud. She always made me desserts especially brownies and welcomed everyone into her home. Words cannot describe the impact she had on my life. She will sincerely be missed. Love you Alice.

Missing my dear friend and all the adventures we shared. Alice was quite the chef, sharing her of love of entertaining with Tom and all their friends. She was always around for a chat over tea and a hug and cookie to go along. My heart goes out to all of your family in this moment. We will all keep special memories of Awesome Alice in our hearts.

Barb and I have fond memories of Alice's fun spirit, and what comes to mind are the good times we had with Alice and Tom when we were all "Salem Hillbillies." The picture isn't great but that's Alice on the right.

Alice will always be remembered in my heart as the lady who outhiked all of us! She just kept going up Buck Mountain, only stopping once and apologizing like she was holding us up. In reality, all the rest of us, at least 20 years or more her youth, were huffing and puffing trying our best to keep up. We were so grateful for that one short break! She was always going and doing, her energy and zest for life was something to aspire to. She was a wonderful woman who will live in the hearts of many.

I remember when I would stop by the elementary school and see her. She always greeted me and asked me how things were going in the JR/SR high school. I always would smile and say good even though it may not have been the truth. She always knew what to say. She will be missed by many.
