Voorheesville - Jean Anne Thompson DeVellis, aged 91, passed away on June 9, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Jean was born on August 2, 1932. She was married to Frank DeVellis on October 10, 1954. They were married for 46 years and had two sons, Michael and James. She later worked at Blue Cross for much of her career.

In her free time, Jean enjoyed camping, reading, watching her favorite soap operas and jigsaw puzzles as well as being outdoors and sitting in her gazebo. She was quick to make friends everywhere she went and was always the first to offer a smile. She loved her family and enjoyed cooking for them. Jean was very active throughout her life, including exercise classes at the YMCA and daily walks with her son, Jim.

Jean was predeceased by her husband, Frank; her parents, Alvina and Frederik; and her brothers, Frederick and William. She is survived by her children, Michael (Kim) and James; her grandchildren, Brian (Sheila) and Tracy (Chad); and great grandchildren Bradley, Keira, Megan, Avery and Lauren, and several nieces and nephews. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.

Visitation will be at Reilly & Son Funeral Home, 9 Voorheesville Avenue, Voorheesville, NY 12186 on Sunday, June 16, 2024 from 1 to 4 PM. Funeral services will be on Monday, June 17, 2024 with a prayer service at the funeral home at 10 AM. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery in Glenmont, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice.
