Colonie - Joyce Rebecca Diffenback died Friday, December 8, 2023. She was born March 2, 1932, in Albany NY, to Minnie (Boel) Finkle and W. Warren Finkle. She lived most of her adult life in Colonie. She worked as a keypunch operator and later as a cosmetologist. In younger years she enjoyed ice skating, swimming and seaside vacations with her children and extended family. She wrote numerous poems over six decades, shared and enjoyed by many. Her strong love for the Lord, work ethic and natural tenacity allowed Joyce to confront many life-obstacles and health challenges to remain productive; going all-out for holidays and family dinners, playing cards, joining any shopping trip or outing.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Louis Diffenback; her 13 sisters, son-in-law Gregg, and grandsons Nelson and Brandon. She is survived by her children George, Yvonne, Dawn, Lisa and Daniel (Tricia); and grandchildren Giovanna, Cole, Daniella, Trevor and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandson, nieces and nephews. Joyce’s family thanks Van Rensselaer Manor and the exceptional team on B-3 for her care over recent years.

Family and friends may call at the Reilly & Son Funeral Home in Colonie on Saturday Dec. 16, 2023 between 9:00 a.m. and 10:45 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Albany Rural Cemetery in Menands.
