Obituary of Wayne S. Raynsford

Voorheesville - Wayne S. Raynsford, 89, of Altamont Rd. died Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at the Our Lady of Mercy Life Center in Guilderland. Wayne was born in Albany and had been a lifelong resident of Voorheesville and a graduate of Syracuse University. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II and was a former POW. He was a member of the ex-POW group at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Albany. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Connor Raynsford; his children, David Raynsford (Pam) of Voorheesville and Robert Raynsford (Kelli) of Essex Junction, VT; and his grandchildren, Alex Raynsford, Abby Raynsford, Donnie Filkins, Lisa Brown and Nicole Geklek. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 o'clock Monday, November 18, 2013 at the New Scotland Cemetery in New Scotland. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 - 5 p.m. at the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Voorheesville.
