CLARKSVILLE, NY. Shirley Relyea passed away peacefully on December 31, 2022. Born in Margaretville, NY in 1941, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Ruth (Collister) Pelton. She was pre-deceased by Arthur, her husband of 58 years, and her daughter Penny. She is survived by sons Randy (Christina) and Rick (Christine), and 10 grandchildren. She had six siblings and was predeceased by Marilyn, Carol, Gary and Robert; she is survived by Daniel and Doris.

Shirley spent the early part of her adult life working with special-needs children in the Clarksville Elementary School and then worked for the NY State Thruway Authority for two decades. She will be remembered for her love of preserving vegetables from the family’s large garden and baking desserts to be shared with family and friends. She also loved traveling and shopping with her friends. She will be greatly missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held in June.
