Voorheesville - Edward G. Poulin Sr., 90, passed away peacefully on Dec. 15, 2022, with loving family at his side. He was born in Pittsfield, MA on Feb. 5, 1932 He leaves behind his wife of 66 years, Mary (Spazioso); his daughters, Nanci of Pittsfield, MA, Julie of Albany, NY, Wendy (Bruce) Halsdorf of Guilderland, Laurie of Schaghticoke, NY and Mary Beth (David) Noble of Albany, NY; six grandchildren, Thomas (Stephanie) Cook, Leah (Zachary) Palmer, Jessica (Brendan) Horan, Julie (John) Ryan, Kali Noble, Justin Prescott and two great-grandsons, Joshua Cook and Hunter Ryan; two brothers-in law, Anthony (Mary-deceased)) Spazioso , David (Eileen) Spazioso and Judith (Alan Hoskeer-deceased). He was predeceased by his son, Edward Jr.; son-in-law, Torrance Prescott; parents, Francis and Helen (Beattie) Poulin; two brothers Andrew “Pete” and William “Billy” in WWII; four sisters, Marion Fischer, Elizabeth (Joe) Rosso, Helen (Frank) DeBonis and Margaret (Joe) Bartini; and a sister-in-law Sandra Spazioso. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was a graduate of St. Josephs High School in Pittsfield, MA where he played baseball, basketball and football. He continued to be interested in all three sports throughout his life, especially Tom Brady and the Patriots. He enjoyed gardening and projects around the house and had an extraordinary love of animals. He never met one he didn’t love.
He will be greatly missed by his entire family as he was a huge presence in all of their lives. He was always there to lend a hand no matter who needed him or what needed to be done.
Services will be private.
