Albany - Sandra VanKampen Frank, 81, entered into Eternal Rest on Saturday, June 18, 2022 surrounded by her family. Born in Albany, Sandra was the biological daughter of the late Hendrieka VanKampen Weiler Useforge and John Weiler. At an early age she was adopted and raised by the late Frederick and Marion VanKampen. Sandra lived in Colonie for most of her life. She was Treasurer of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Colonie Village Fire Dept. in the late 1960s. She enjoyed coffee on her patio while feeding the birds. She loved watching sci-fi movies as well as watching the New York Yankees play. Her family was everything to her and she especially loved cooking for them and spending time with her grandchildren.

Sandra was the wife of the late Joseph Frank; mother of Barry Frank of Loudonville, Deborah Bayer (Robert) of Colonie and the late Michael Frank; grandmother of Lydia Bayer and Kyle Bayer; great-grandmother of Adrianna Bayer-Peabody; and sister of Alice Mary, Raymond and the late John, Colton “Nancy”, Lois and Beverly. She is also survived by several in-laws, nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 noon on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Christ Our Light Church, 1 Maria Dr., Loudonville. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Colonie. Burial will be in Memory’s Garden Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial donations to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 4 Oakland Ave., Menands, NY 12204 or the Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Avenue, Glenville, NY 12302 would be appreciated. Sandra’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Drs. Van Bellingham and Kleffner, as well as Jim, Daniel, and Amada. Thank you to the other nurses and staff at CDPC and Hospice who helped and cared for her.
