Colonie - Carol Gerhardt Govel, 80, of Mountain View Ave. died Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at her home. Born in Rochester, Carol had lived for the past 45 years in Colonie. She worked for the Sears Service Center in Colonie for 10 years and then for the New york State Tax and Finance Department for 20 years before retiring in 1999. She was a member of the Red Hat Club, the Craft Club at Christ Our Light Church in Loudonville and always enjoyed her times at Kinderhook Lake in Niverville. Carol was the wife of the late Frank J. Govel. She is survived by her children, Andrew Govel (Joanne Van Patten) of Albany, Timothy Govel (Heather) of Stephentown, Gregory Govel of Albany and Whitney White of North Carolina; her brother, Daniel Gerhardt (Rhoda) of Miami, FL; and close family friend, Dick Clark of Colonie. Funeral 8:00 o'clock Friday morning from the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Colonie and at 9:00 o'clock at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2 Shaker El, Loudonville, NY 12211. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park in Schenectady. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m. in the funeral home. For those who wish, memorial contributions to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
