Obituary of William G. Tesch

VOORHEESVILLE - William George Tesch, 84, passed into eternal life on December 1, 2021. Born in Albany, New York, he was the son of the late William and Rita Hines Tesch. Bill was a loving, devoted husband and father. Many people knew him as “Upside Down Bill”. He worked for the US Postal Service for many years. He also worked for the Town of New Scotland. Upon retirement, he enjoyed going on day trips with his wife Sandra, especially to the Mac Haydn Theatre and church suppers with the New Scotland Senior Outreach. Bill was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Albany. Bill was the husband of the late Sandra Waters Tesch who died in May 2021. He is survived by six beloved children -Pamela (Leo) Lupien, William (Susan) Tesch, Alfred (Patricia) Tesch, Charles (Victoria) Tesch, Glen Tesch and Amy (Michael) Tesch-Layman. Also survived by 13 cherished grandchildren – Aniela and Justin Lupien, William, Michael J. and Kevin Tesch, Allan, Adam, Madeline and Gretchen Tesch, Michael C. Tesch and Bethany Gill, and Cooper and Paige Layman. Bill is survived by his siblings Marilyn LaJoy and Susan (Robert) Denninger, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and sibling Kathleen Heere. Special thanks are extended to grandson Allan Tesch for his devoted care. The family also wishes to thank Dr. Peter Forman of Delmar Family Medicine and The Community Hospice for their compassion and care as well as the nurses and doctors at St. Peter’s Hospital and St. Peter’s Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Colonie from 2 – 5 p.m. on Sunday, December 5. Prayer services will be held at 4:30 p.m. All other services will be private at the convenience of the family.
