Frederick Goodrum Obituary

Gallupville - Fred Goodrum, 65 of Gallupville passed away peacefully on November 15, 2021 at Mountain Valley Hospice in Gloversville with his loving wife Linda at his side. Born in Albany to the late Arthur and Naomi Robinson Goodrum, Fred was raised in Selkirk, NY and attended Ravena Coeymans Selkirk schools. Fred loved music and was a talented musician. He enjoyed Blues music and playing his many guitars and other various instruments. In 2004, his band, The Brown Shugie Blues Band competed in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN. He also enjoyed fishing in the creek in his back yard and spending time at home and with family. Fred is survived by the love of his life, his wife Linda Goodrum (Wenzel), his daughters Patty Holznagel and Melissa Weaver (Mike), his grandchildren Hannah and Morgan Holznagel, Brandon Everett, Caden Weaver, great grandsons Erymiah and Zyon Everett, his sister Elizabeth Goodrum, brother Alton Goodrum, and several cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Voorheesville from 4 – 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 18, 2021. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 to conclude the evening. For those who wish, memorial donations to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Ave., Gloversville, NY 12078 would be appreciated.
