Obituary of Helen M. Thompson

Ashland, KY - Helen Thompson (89) Passed away peacefully at Community Hospice in Ashland on 5/27/2021. From Colonie, NY and St. Petersburg, FL, her early years were spent growing up in Stuyvesant Falls, NY. Upon marriage, moved to Colonie where she worked jobs for Albany Felt Company, Lisha Kill Market, Price Chopper, and Sears. In her retirement years, she moved to St. Petersburg, FL where she enjoyed working for the Tampa Bay Rays for many years. She enjoyed the game of baseball and this was her “dream job”. Helen was predeceased by her husband, Donald, Sr., of 32 years, sister, Dorothy Frick and brother, John Gregory. She is survived by her children Donna Salvo, Saratoga, Donald, Thompson, Jr., Albany and Mary Frazier (John), Kentucky. Also survived by her grandchildren, Jeffrey, Matthew, Corissa and Caitlin Salvo, Julian Frazier, as well as Brenda Jensis “my other granddaughter” as well as her great-grandchildren, Thomas Salvo, Mia Butler and James Salvo. Friends may call at the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, 1200 Central Ave., Colonie, NY on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 from 10:30 to 11 a.m. with a memorial service being held at 11. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens, 983 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Colonie. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Community Hospice, 1480 Carter Avenue, Ashland, KY 41101 or your local Hospice center.
