Obituary of Alexander Lee Green

Please share a memory of Alexander to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
New Scotland - On Sunday March 7th the sun started shining less brightly when suddenly, but not unexpectedly Alexander Lee Green left this Earth to be in a better place. After years of fighting to keep him here with us epilepsy came in his sleep to take him to a place with no more pain. Alex’s 13 years were filled with joy and purpose. He lived every day to the fullest and never let his disabilities or barriers stop him from finding his joy or bringing that joy to anyone lucky enough to be around him. Alex’s smile and laughter filled a room and your heart. He helped us to see the joy in every little thing and to not focus on milestones but on memories. He found the purest joy at the beach and with some good music, a new fresh book to tear to shreds, a nice big bowl of chips, a breeze on a sunny day, some really good head rubs, and being around the people who loved him. And there are so many people who have loved Alex and helped him to the best he could be during his time on Earth. Alex was diagnosed with severe autism at 16 months old and with that brought so many angels into our lives who helped us to be the voice that Alex needed us to be. We are so grateful to all the angels at Crossroads Center for Children, Wildwood and BOCES who helped him to be the best Alex he could be and brought so much joy to his days. Alex showed that love never needs words and though he never was able to speak he was able to show his love in so many ways to all the people who meant so much to him. Over the years we built not just Team Alex but Family Alex and we are so grateful to everyone who loved and supported Alex and our family over the years. In Alex’s memory we hope that you live with less judgement and more kindness, spend more time enjoying the simplest joys in life, roll the windows down crank up the tunes and flap your hands and just enjoy the moment. We will think of you every day our sweetest boy and will love you the biggest, as long as the waves hit the beach. We will see your smile and hear your laugh in our darkest moments and know that you are always with us pushing us to be the best we can be. We will forever be singing “Saying don’t worry about a thing, cause every little thing is going to be alright” because you were one of our three little birds. Here left missing Alex everyday are his parents Amelia and Brendon Green as well as his brothers and best friends Cameron and Bradley. Alex had as much love in his life as he put out into the world and some of the people who loved him most were also his Gramma (Tina Rhys), Grampy (Richard Solomon), Grammy (Alice Williams),Aunt Lennie, Unc Mikail, Kisha and Sadia, Auntie Lou, Uncle Julian, Uncle Bev, Auntie Alex, Auntie Jess, Auntie Caroline, Auntie Lucinda, Titi Sarah, his nurse Kristen, Dr. Mike and countless other friends, family, therapists, teachers, teaching assistants, medical staff and other staff members who became part of Family Alex. Alex was the first of three boys and his brothers were his best friends and biggest supporters and champions. They love him as he was through all of his ups and downs and have taught the world about autism, epilepsy and kindness in Alex’s image. As a last gift from Alex to ensure them the future they deserve we have started a college fund for Cameron and Bradley in honor of Alex: Contributions can be deposited into the account of “Alex Green’s Brother Gift” at any Cap Com location or mailed to 82 Great View Terr., Voorheesville, NY 12186.
