Please share a memory of Luella to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Slingerlands - Luella Edna Ellis (nee Ogden), wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed unexpectedly into eternity at AMC December 11, 2020. Born February 28, 1930, Lee wore many hats in her long life. She was an OR nurse for several years before she went on to be the school nurse for East Greenbush schools for 30 years. Lee was a master gardener and enjoyed all living things. She was a talented seamstress, knitter and crocheter. Lee was a wonderful hostess and loved hosting the group she square danced with as well as all her neighbors on New Year's Eve. She was very active in her church and supported it through her craft group there. But her greatest joy was her family. Always the steady rock for all to rely on, she will be dearly missed. Lee will be remembered for her strength and her patience. She leaves a legacy of tender loving care, hospitality, and joyful service to her family, her church and her many friends and neighbors.
Predeceased by the love of her life to whom she was married for 69 years, Dick Ellis. Together, they had a clear goal: to love and support their grandchildren. Survived by 3 sons, Robert, Richard and Roger and their spouses, 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Predeceased by her brother, Richard Ogden.
Thanks to all at Beverwyck Eddy Green Slingerlands for their loving care of Lee. If desired, donations to Doctors Without Borders.
