I knew Patsy, and Dick, through our membership with the Unitarian church. Patsy was a quiet and charming presence and I always enjoyed our conversations. Happily, I was able to obtain one of her paintings at a church charity event, it hangs on the wall in my home office. The subject is a portion of Puget Sound, with the outline of the city and a hint of the mountains in the background. The painting is long and narrow, the tones are mostly black, with subtle blues. My mother lived in Seattle for a time when she was young, this watercolor from about 1995 reminds me of her, and of Patsy and her warmth. I'm happy to have known her.
