Obituary of Jon Frederick Jacobson

Colonie - Jon F. Jacobson, 68, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013. Born in Schenectady, Jon was the son of the late Leah DuPrey and Frederick Jacobson. He had lived in Colonie for most of his life. Jon worked as a Glazier, beginning at Klein's Bow Windows in Voorheesville, then A & E Glass in Colonie and from 1986 until his retirement last year at Advanced Glass in Watervliet. He was a master craftsman and enjoyed woodworking. He also enjoyed the track season at Saratoga and was an avid Giants fan. Jon was a humble and generous man who loved his grandchildren. Jon was the father of Jeff Jacobson (Missy) of Callicoon Center, NY and the late Ron Jacobson; grandfather of Timothy John Jacobson, Leah Marie Jacobson, Sarah Ann Jacobson, Abigail Lynn Jacobson and Matthew Bounds; former husband of Donna Jacobson Susi of Saratoga; and brother of the late Constance Fisher. Friends are invited to visit with Jon's family Friday, May 17, 2013 from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Colonie. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 Friday evening during the visitation. Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2013 at St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands. For those who wish, memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Lane, Latham, NY 12110 would be appreciated.
