Guilderland - Richard John Patrick left us on April 27, 2013 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital. Born on Valentine's Day and raised in Oneonta, the son of a policeman and second grade parochial school teacher. Oldest of five brothers and one sister. NYS College of Forestry at Syracuse University. SU boxing team 1954, Forest fire lookout 1955 in the Siskyou National Forest. Designed the circle of flags around the Washington Monument in 1957, while working for the U.S. Department of the Interior. U.S. Army 1958-1964, active duty 1958-59. City Planner for the City of Albany under Mayor Corning. Deputy Parks Commissioner under Mayor Whalen. Actor: Park Playhouse, Albany Civic Theatre, SUNY Albany, Russell Sage. Eagle Scout. Lifetime member of YMCA. Lifetime admirer and friend of wonderful women. Secretary, Westerlo Basic Valley Fish and Game Club, 2002-2013. Married 54 years to Patsy Patrick, the best thing by far that ever happened to me. Father of great sons, Jan and Roger, and grandfather of super grandchildren, Emily and Cole. Father-in-law to fine women and mothers, Christy, Tammy and Sue. Confirmed at St. Matthew's R.C. Church in Voorheesville. Thanks to Doctors Atalay, Britton, O'Brien, Zeltner, Palat, Perotti, Choma and Garbo for keeping me healthy. Services private at the convenience of the family.
