Obituary of Marvin J. Spinner
Colonie - Marvin Spinner, 66, of Colonie passed away on Monday, April 16, 2018. Marvin was born in Burke, NY to Raymond and Margurite Spinner on August 21, 1951. He was a 1971 graduate of Albany Business College and he went on to serve 26 years in the New York Army National Guard, retiring with the rank of Sergeant First Class. In earlier years Marvin ran several marathons, including races in Lincoln, Nebraska and Montreal Canada. Marvin was an avid hockey fan, his favorite team being the Montreal Canadians, enjoyed country music, woodworking and anything to do with the Adirondacks, including skiing and hiking the High Peaks.
Marvin is survived by his three children; Ross (Amber), Adam (Cynthia) and Lisa (Joseph); six brothers, Arlington (Kathy), Douglas (Sheila), James (Sue), Irvin (Darlene), Calvin (Jackie), Darrell (Jean); one sister, Janice (Terrance); five grandchildren, Brayden, Dylan, Cameron, Lilian and Baylor. He is also survived by a brother-in-law Allen (Evelyn) Wolf. as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Calling hours will be Sunday, April 22, 2018 from 4 - 7 p.m. at the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Colonie immediately followed by a memorial service at the Roessleville Presbyterian Church, 1 N. Elmhurst Ave., Colonie. Burial will be Monday, April 23, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at the Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Adirondack Mountain Club, specifyy for Trail Committee, ADK, 814 Goggins Rd., Lake George, NY 12845.
