Obituary of Bruce C. Barnes

Colonie - Bruce Curtis Barnes,89, of Colonie, passed away on Dec. 24, 2017 in Albany, NY.  Bruce was born in Cambridge, MA to John Ralph Ambrose Russell Barnes and Elise (Curtis) Barnes on Oct 15, 1928.  He married Marilyn Joan Cowan on Jan. 26, 1952 in Troy. He graduated from RPI in June of 1952.  He worked for the Public Service Commission for 30+ years.  He was a veteran of Korean War and served in the Army in the code room. He served on the vestry at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church and was also the treasurer for many years. 

Bruce is preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn and is survived by his children, Sabrina, Jeffrey and Hugh and his grandsons, Joshua, Dylan and Jacob Sterman.

 Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Fri. Feb 2, 2018 at Christ Episcopal Church 15 West High St., Ballston Spa with Fr. Derek Roy officiating.  Entombment will be at a later date.
