Obituary of Linda L. Haaf
Voorheesville - Linda L. Haaf (Brown), 78, passed away suddenly on Sunday July 2, 2017 at Albany Medical Center. Born in the Bronx, NYC on August 5, 1938, the daughter of the late Charles and Marjorie Brown, Linda attended Music and Art High School in New York City. Her family later moved to New Hyde Park, Long Island, where she graduated from Sewanhaka High School. She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in Biology and Education at Queens College, where she met Bill, her husband of 55 years.
She retired from her position at St. Mary’s School in East Greenbush in 2000, after over 20 years of teaching science. An avid reader and lover of art and science, Linda was an active member of the Red Hats Society and her local Book Club.
Linda enjoyed crossword puzzles, word games, traveling, musicals, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband Bill and is the loving mother of three children, David Haaf (Luanne), Kirsten Mattison (Tim), and Michael Haaf (Sandy). She adored her eight grandchildren, Katie, Nick, John, Charlotte, Morgan, Adam, Derek, and Samantha. Linda was kind and generous to all and will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her.
