Obituary of Lena M. Campagna
Guilder land - Nicolina Campagna (Lena St. Lucia), 98, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center. Born on May 11, 1919 in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Francesco and Maria Catena (Adornetto) Santalucia. Lena was predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles J. Campagna, Sr. They were united in marriage in 1942. Lena was an avid Yankee fan, loved to bowl in family and other leagues and was known for being an outstanding cook, specializing in recipes passed down to her from her Sicilian mother. She is survived by her children, Joyce Campagna, Christine Carrothers (Terry), Patricia Kopach (Matthew), Charles Campagna, Jr. (Lynda) and Shelley Beaulac (Steve). Also survived by her grandchildren, Michael Carrothers, Stephanie Kieran (Bill), Brian Carrothers (Jenn), Chuck Campagna (Pina), Aimée Pachucki (Michael), Kristen Donnellan (Christopher), Kate Murphy, Nicole Hoffman (Peter), Jaclyn Murphy (Bryan) and Bradley, Olivia, Julia and Annabella Campagna. Lena’s great-grandchildren all held a special place in her heart, Kayleigh and Isabella Kieran, Mia Rockenstyre, Michael and Jillian Carrothers, Brian and Joey Carrothers, Grace Pachucki, Carmello and Ava Campagna, Abigail and Alivia Donnellan, Zachary and Cecelia Murphy. Lena is also survived by her sisters, Anne Armento, Beatrice Flood, Joan Drozd (Ronald) and her sister-in-law, Carmella St. Lucia. She was predeceased by her brothers Joseph, Charles and Anthony St. Lucia, sisters Catherine Lauraine, Mary Ragone and Julia Campagna and brothers and sisters-in-law, James Lauraine, Edith St. Lucia, Joseph Armento, Camilla St. Lucia, Dominick Ragone, Mario Campagna, Milton Flood, Anna Campagna, Lucy Cavallaro, Annette Ward, Rose Russell and Anthony Campagna. Lena’s family would like to thank the staff of Our Lady of Mercy Life Center Rosary Unit, especially nurses Robin, Kim, Debbie, Katie, Erin and Anne and her aides Bebe, Ivory, Deedee, Cynthia, Will and Sandy and social worker, Mary Ann, for the excellent care, many kindnesses and great love given to their mother and grandmother during her stay at OLM. Calling hours on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Colonie from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with a memorial service immediately following at the funeral home. Interment at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, following the memorial service.
