Obituary of Norma Helen Franklin

Albany - Norma King Franklin, 89, died Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home. Born in Niskayuna, Norma had lived for most of her life on Waterman Ave. in Colonie. She was the wife of the late Charles “Chuck” Franklin. She is survived by her son, Richard “Rick” Franklin and children, Heather Gigliello (Steven) and Lindsay Hiss (Nathan), who’s love for cats was passed to her from her grandmother; her son, Randy Franklin (Karen Spreer) and children, Anna and Mary Frances; three great-grandchildren; her sister, Beverly Brickner; her cousin, June McGarry; her niece , Colleen Franklin of Chesley, CA; and her good friend, Beth Reinke. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Memory’s Garden Cemetery in Colonie. Norma’s sons would like to thank the staff of the Daughters of Sarah Red Unit for all the care and love provided to her. In honor of her love for cats, donations in Norma’s memory may be made to the Mohawk hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave., Menands., NY 12204.
