As a teacher and coach, Mr. Leach was unforgettable—always supportive, kind, understanding, and positive, a true role model and mentor. A community leader and central figure for my own personal success as student, athlete, and person, he also served as much for my two older brothers, many of my friends and classmates, and countless others. My whole family has fond and cherished memories, happiness, and achievement thanks to him. I still recall clearly his figure on the mat, in the halls, and elsewhere, his notable presence, smile, enthusiasm, and encouragement.
My deepest sympathy to his family and loved ones and much thanks and appreciation for having known him.

I'm so sorry for your family's loss. Please accept my sincere condolences. I personally know the loss of a loved one, and the pain can seem overwhelming. However, I found comfort in the Bible's promise for the future. Acts 24:15 speaks of a resurrection, a time when God will reunite us with our lost loved ones. I hope this helps bring some comfort in this time of sorrow.

Dear Karen and Family
My thoughts and heart go out to you right now. I wish I could be there with the family supporting you at this time.
I will always cherish the good times that I had with Uncle Rick, and the stories he would tell - they will always bring a smile to my face.
And the small banter and jokes you two would have at Thanksgiving dinner, are unforgettable.
I am so sorry for your loss and will keep you in my thoughts.
May he rest in peace,

I remember Coach Leach as a very kind and patient man, and teacher. When we reconnected last year on facebook, I was honored that he remembered me, and revealed to me that he thought of me often in those days, as I was a troubled teen. He coached both my brothers in baseball, and also revealed to me that Barry was a very good player. I was on top of the world having him as a "friend". All my prayers are for your comfort and healing during this time of sorrow. He will be missed by so many, because he touched so many.

Dear Leach Family, Our family would like to express our sincere sympathy to you and yours. Our lives have crossed paths so many times since 1970 when I first met Dick as a young upstart at the Voorheesville Elementary School. He was so enthused and humble. Karen was soon his bride and then as the years passed Rick and Nixole arrived, whom I had in fifth grade. The family embraced our small community as we welcomed them with loving arms.Dick and his family continued to be a vital componet of our community adding their dignity and integrity to it all. Dick was always there. His gentle, tender manner was to be envied. He was a friend, mentor, and confidant. With his smile he could build bridges and break down barriers. We are better for knowing him and having him in our lives. Our family will always remember him with great respect and fondness. We are sorry. So Dick and I grew up side by side on Woodside Ave. He was always a great friend as we played, fought, shared and matured through those early years. A nurturer, he would always stop and visit my mom in the years she lived alone after my dad died and she spoke of him warmly and often. In recent years Dick and I had reconnected via Facebook..and communicated often. Because of that, I will miss him as a current friend...not just a childhood memory. Peace.
