Obituary of Mary Frances Haberland

Voorheesville - - Mary Frances Haberland, 83, passed away peacefully at Teresian House early Saturday morning May 14. She was born in Albany on June 12, 1932, graduated from Philip Schuyler High School and married the love of her life, William (Bill), on October 25, 1958. They moved their family from Albany to Evergreen Drive in Voorheesville in 1967 where Fran made friends with everyone she met. An avid NY Yankees fan, she was also known about town as the luckiest lottery player ever, winning often on scratch-offs and her favorite daily numbers. Fran worked for New York State for 37 years, where she enjoyed an early retirement at 55. After retirement, she worked for Atlas Copco and Nichols’ Market in Voorheesville. Fran enjoyed traveling with Bill to visit her daughters and grandchildren often. In addition to her loving husband, Bill, Fran is survived by her daughters, Ann (Fred) Carpinello of Duluth, GA, and Gail (Bob) Parzych of Berlin, CT, and her son Glenn (Paula) Haberland of Clifton Park. Fran was the joyful and loving grandmother to Freddie and Jenna Carpinello, Nicholas and Michael Parzych, and grandpup Shiloh Haberland. The family would like to thank Andrea and the entire caring staff at the Teresian House for making her 5- month residency comfortable. Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Voorheesville. Calling hours will be on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be on Monday, May 23, 2016 at 10 a.m. at the Gerald B. H. Solomon National Cemetery.
