Obituary of Ashley Taheri

Voorheesville - Ashley Taheri died Monday, April 4, 2016. She was a warm, compassionate, insightful, intelligent person. To her husband, Bill, her love knew no bounds. As Julian’s mother she provided her son with soulful tenderness and a strong foundation for his journey ahead. Ashley impacted everyone she met, whether it was one of Julian’s friends or a chance meeting on the street. She loved meeting new people and learning all about them. If she could offer advice she would give it. If you needed love she would give it. Ashley had a thriving mental health therapy practice in Colonie, NY. With her uncanny knack for ‘getting’ a person, she formed close bonds with patients. Her insights and deep compassion will be missed. In the immediate aftermath of 9/11, and during the years that followed, she worked with the FDNY at the counseling services unit. She devoted herself to helping many surviving firefighters and families of fallen firefighters. Julian Pyke, her son, and I, Bill Pyke, her husband, will forever keep her in our hearts.
