New Scotland - Joan Rock Wallace, 85, of Crow Ridge Rd. died peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Plattsburgh, Joan was the daughter of the late Orien and Anita Guilbo Rock. She worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Peter’s Hospital and as a Family Care Coordinator for the Capital District Psychiatric Center before retiring. Joan enjoyed traveling with the Happy Wanderers and the Red Hatters. She was a communicant of St. Mathew’s Church in Voorheesville.
Joan was the wife of the late Stephen P. Wallace, Sr.; mother of Stephen Wallace Jr. (Dave Holumzer), Nancy Franze (Rick), Mark Wallace (Kelly) and the late Christina Wallace; sister of Robert Rock, Cathy DiGesare, Carol Houck and the late Mary Rock. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Joan’s funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2016 at St. Matthew’s Church, 25 Mountainview St., Voorheesville. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Glenmont. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 - 4 p.m. in the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Voorheesville. Joan’s family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers, Erin, Christine, Jen and Mona.
