Obituary of Walter Flanagan

Delmar - Walter Flanagan, 71, died Sunday, January 27, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home. Born in Troy, Walter was a longtime resident of Colonie. He worked for many years for the South Colonie School District and was a former paramedic with the Colonie Fire Department. Also, he was a communicant of the Church of St. Clare in Colonie. Walter was the son of the late Thomas and Anne Hayden Flanagan; and brother of Sr. Mary Jacinta of Latham and the late Thomas J.Flanagan. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at the Church of St. Clare, 1947 Central Ave., Colonie. Relatives and friends may also visit prior to the mass, from 8 - 9 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Colonie. Walter's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home and the Community Hospice of Albany County.
