Obituary of William L. Flansburg

Voorheesville - William L. Flansburg, 88, died Monday November 2, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Bethlehem. Born in Albany, William had lived in Voorheesville for all of his life. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during World War II. For over 30 years, he worked for New York State as a carpenter in the Senate and then at the Department of Health before retiring in 1985. William was a charter member of the Voorheesville Ambulance and a member of the Voorheesville Fire Department for many years. Also, he was a member of the American Legion in Voorheesville and the Voorheesville Rod and Gun Club. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Sandra Nietsche Flansburg; his children, William Flansburg of Rensselaerville and Anne Sager of Bethlehem; brother, Richard Flansburg of Voorheesville, in-laws, Eugene Nietsche (Suzanne) of Lakeville, NY and Karen Finkle (Perry) of North Fort Myers, FL; and several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to visit with William’s family on Thursday, November 5, 2015 from 4 - 6 p.m. at the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Voorheesville.
