Guilderland - William T. Goodwin, 83, of Janet Lane died Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany. Born in Brooklyn, William had lived most of his life in the Capital District. He was employed for 15 years with the Town of Guilderland Highway Department before starting Goodwin Enterprises. He was a life member of the Westmere Fire Department and Past President of the Western Turnpike Rescue Squad. He was also a former member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. William is survived by his wife of 40 years, Carol Drake Goodwin; his daughter, Teresa Goodwin of Guilderland; his service dog and faithful companion, Oscar; and his brother-in-law, Ralph H. Drake, Jr. (Linda) of Colonie. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and his good friend, Gerald Newcomb. Funeral 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015 from the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Colonie and at 10:00 o’clock at Christ the King Church, 20 Sumpter Ave., Guilderland. Burial will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Colonie. Calling hours will be Monday from 4 - 8 p.m. in the funeral home. William’s family would like to thank the doctors and nurses in the ICU of St. Peter’s Hospital for the care given to him during his illlness.
