Voorheesville - Magdalena Hitter Lopez, 83, of Appleblossom Lane died Saturday, June 30, 2012 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. Born in Hungary, Magdalena survived World War II as a young woman and has lived in Voorheesville since 1958. She worked for the NYS Department of Education from 1962 to 1976, for the Voorheesville School District from 1965 to the mid 1970's and she delivered newspapers for the Times Union for 28 years. Magdalena was the wife of the late Hipolito Lopez; mother of Paul Lopez of Voorheesville, Frances Elizabeth Marie Lopez of Delmar, the late Robert and George Lopez; grandmother of Joshua Lopez and Brian Ribley; and cousin of Ildeco Ingelston. Funeral 9:00 o'clock Saturday morning from the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Voorheesville and at 9:30 at St. Matthew's Church, Mountainview St., Voorheesville. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Glenmont. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 - 7 p.m. in the funeral home. In appreciation for all of the assistance provided to Magdalena and her family over the years, memorial donations may be made to the Voorheesville Area Ambulance, PO Box 238, Voorheesville, NY 12186.
