Catherine was born on September 19, 1921, in West Albany and was a life-long resident of that community. She was the daughter of the late Anna C. and George A. Logan, also of West Albany. Her beloved husband was the late Raymond K. Sedlak, to whom she was married for 31 happy years, prior to his death in 1972. She was also pre-deceased by her sister, Eleanor Rickert, and her brother, George Logan. Catherine is survived by her three children, Diane (Ronald) Cremisio, Bonnie Logan, and Raymond Sedlak; her devoted son-in-law, Ronald Cremisio; eight grandchildren, Lori Ruszczyk Bonesteel, Kim Ruszczyk, Lisa Cremisio, Amy Cremisio, Melanie Sedlak Coss, Rayana Sedlak, Catherine M. Sedlak, and Elena Sedlak; four great-grandchildren, Ryan Bonesteel, Emma Mae Coss, Alexander Coss, and Haley Allen; two nieces, Linda McLaughlin and Sandra (Donald) McCullough; daughter Bonnie's fiance, James Brown; and son Raymond's companion, Darlene St. George. Catherine attended West Albany Elementary School and was a graduate of Roessleville High School and Albany Comptometer School. She was a life-long member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Albany. Catherine worked as a secretary at the Albany County Department of Social Services and as secretary-receptionist for the Albany County Attorney's Office until her retirement at age 80. She immensely enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Relatives and friends may call on Sunday, November 27, 2011, from 4 to 8 pm, at Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Colonie. Funeral service will also be held at the funeral home on Monday, November 28, 2011, at 10 am. Interment will follow immediately at Memory's Garden, 983 Watervliet-Shaker Road in Colonie. Catherine's family would like to express their appreciation to the nurses and staff at Eddy Village Green in Cohoes. They are, most especially, grateful to those in House #2, who provided tender, compassionate, and loving care, during the final two weeks of Catherine's life. Such kindness and selflessness are an inspiration to us all. Catherine's children deeply believe that their dear, sweet mother was reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, parents, and other cherished family and friends on Thanksgiving morning.
