Voorheesville - George W. Klotz, 85, died Monday, October 24, 2011 at the Community Hospice of Albany Inn at St. Peter's Hospital. Born in Albany, George had lived in Voorheesville for the past 46 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II and then was employed for the New York State Office of General Services for many years, retiring 1988. George's beloved wife of 61 years, Harriet Gebhardt Klotz predeceased him, passing away last month. He is survived by nephews, William Grimm of Ballston Spa, George Gebhardt (Pamela) of Colonie, William Gebhardt (Ona) of Albany; and a niece, Lois Cameron of Oregon. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 o'clock Monday afternoon, October 31, 2011 at the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Voorheesville. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., prior to the service. George's family would like to thank all of his caregivers, especially his girls, Josephine, Sonya, Sherry, Joy, Terrie and Bernadette for the care given to both him and Harriet. For those who wish, memorial contributions to the Christ Lutheran Church, 1500 Western Ave., Albany, NY 12203 would be appreciated.
