Voorheesville - Mary Ciupek Walas, 92, of West St. died Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at the Our Lady of Mercy Life Center in Guilderland. Mary was born in Albany, the daughter of the late Julia Waz and Blase Ciupek. She worked for many years as a Lab Technician for the former Sterling Winthrop Co. in Rensselaer.
Mary was the wife of the late Walter Walas; and sister of Val Ciupek of Altamont and the late Nellie Ciupek, Stephen Ciupek, Frank Ciupek, John Ciupek and Anna Intrieri. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral 9:30 Saturday morning from the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Voorheesville and at 10:00 o'clock at St. Matthew's Church, Mountainview St., Voorheesville. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands. Friends may also call at the funera home Saturday morning from 8:30 - 9:30, prior to the funeral services.
