Stillwater - Michael Joseph Czwakiel, 56, of Stillwater, passed away suddenly on Friday, March 18, 2011. Born and raised in Albany, Mike was the youngest son of Stanley and Margaret (Fay) Czwakiel. He graduated from Cardinal McCloskey High School in 1972 and was employed as a Calculations Clerk 2 in the Fiscal Management Office of the NYS Department of Education for the past 35 years. Mike was a devoted RPI hockey fan and did volunteer work for the Albany Metro Mallers football team. He was also an avid follower of the NY Mets and Minnesta Vikings. Mike will be remembered as a wonderful friend who had a heart of gold and was always willing to help others. Predeceased by his parents and brothers, William and Robert Czwakiel. Survivors include devoted friends Irene Coy and Liz Haley; godson, Christian Coy; Uncle Bert, Aunt Ruth and several cousins and friends. Relatives and friends may call at the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Colonie on Thursday, March 24, 2011 from 5 - 8 p.m. A time for sharing memories will be held at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Colonie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association, Pine West Plaza Building 2, Suite 204, Washington Ave., Ext., Albany, NY 12205.
