Troy - Clifford D. Muir, 88, died Thursday, March 3, 2001 at The Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre in Troy. Born in Montreal, Canada, Clifford had lived most of his life in the Albany and Colonie area. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during World War II. For 38 years, he worked for the Times Union newspaper as a Photo Engraver. He was a member of the Graphic Communications International Union, formerly known as the Albany Local Photo Engravers. Also, he was a member of the Quarter Century Club at the Times Union and the American Legion in Colonie.
Clifford was the husband of the late Delia LeMeire Muir; stepfather of Joan Despart and the late Charles Thomas Gienty, Loretta VanDerzee, William Gienty and Francis Gienty. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 o'clock Monday morning at the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Colonie. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Glenmont. Friends may also call at the funeral home Monday morning from 10 - 11 a.m., prior to the service.
