Jenny Sickles Obituary
Voorheesville - Jenny Sickles, 87, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 14, 2011 at Albany Medical Center.
Jenny was born on July 28, 1923. She was the daughter of the late Boleslaw and Benedicta Tomaszewski and was member of Voorheesville High School's first graduating class. She worked at Montgomery Ward for 11 years and later became a bus driver for Voorheesville Central Schools, retiring after 25 years of service. Jenny was a communicant of Christ the King Church in Guilderland and a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Voorheesville.
Jenny is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Eugene, her daughter Joan (Gerry) O'Brien of Loudonville, her granddaughter Sharon O'Brien of Rotterdam, and many nieces and nephews and their children. She was predeceased by her sisters Wanda Krause and Regina Pospisil, and her brothers Benny and Nelson Thomas.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:00 am at Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Voorheesville, then to Christ the King Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 o'clock. Calling hours will be Monday from 4-7 pm at the funeral home. The parish family of Christ the King will gather at 4:30 pm for a service of prayer and remembrance. All are welcome. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
