Voorheesville - Cynthia "Cindy" Manguilli Abelseth, 55, died Friday, November 7, 2014 at her home. Born in New Haven, CT, Cindy had lived in Voorheesville for the past 21 years. Cindy was the Director of The Kids Club, Inc., an organization she founded 28 years ago. She will be remembered fro her devotion to the children at The Kids Club, walking and riding with her friends and time spent with family and friends, especially at the beach. Cindy was the wife of Jim Abelseth; mother of Christine Abelseth of Albany and Caitlin Abelseth of Voorheesville; sister of Linda Spina (John), Deborah Hodgdon (Peter), Cathi Weber (Wayne) and Jim Monroe (Donna); and sister-in-law of Jan Abelseth (Steve Lillienstein) and Jill Abelseth (Thomas Canavan). She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. A Celebration of Cindy's life for family and friends will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 15, 2014 in the small gym at the Voorheesville Elementary School followed by a tree planting ceremony in the courtyard. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Cindy Abelseth Scholarship Fund, c/o The Kids Club, Inc., PO Box 295, Voorheesville, NY 12186.
