Colonie - Jean Randall Shaw, 70, died Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at St. Peter's hospital in Albany. Born in Albany, Jean was a lifelong resident of Colonie and a 1962 graduate of Colonie Central High School. Jean worked for 30 years at the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles, retiring in 2009. She was very active in Girl Scouts and a member of the Board of Directors for the Hudson Valley Girl Scout Council. She was a member of the Roessleville Presbyterian Church in Colonie and a clerk of the Session of the Albany Presbytery. Jean was the wife of the late Walter C. Shaw; mother of Kenneth Fairbairn (Gerard) of Rochester, Kevin Fairbairn (Lisa) of Schenectady and Kelly Fairbairn (Lisa) of Colonie; grandmother of Maggie Fairbairn, Makenzie Fairbairn and Kevin Fairbairn, II; and sister of James Randall (Barbara) of Albany. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, November 2, 2014 at the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Colonie. Friends are invited and may also visit with her family from 2 - 4:30 p.m. at the funeral home, prior to the service. For those who wish, memorial contributions to the Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205 would be appreciated
