Obituary of Irene Frances Barnick

ALBANY - Irene Borowski Barnick, 86, of Albany Shaker Rd. passed away Monday, August 18, 2014 at her residence. Born in Albany, Irene had been employed by the NY Telephone Company, Sears and the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation before retiring in 1982. She was a member of the Colonie Elks Ladies Auxillary, the National Wildlife Foundation and the Humane Society. Irene lived for her family. She was the wife of the late Theodore Barnick, Sr.; mother of Theodore J. Barnick of Loudonville, Claudia Norton of Charlton, MA and Cynthia Barnick of East Berne; grandmother of Jessica Jacob (Daniel) of Brookline, MA and Michael Norton of Charlton, MA; and sister of Dr. John Murphy of East Greenbush and the late Rosemary DiPace and Stanley Borowsky. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, August 21, 2014 at St. Pius X Church, Crumite Rd., Loudonville. Relatives and friends may also call at the church from 8:30 to 9:00 a.m., prior to the mass. Burial will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Colonie. For those who wish, memorial contributions to the Mohawk-Hudson Humane Society, 4 Oakland Ave., Menands, NY 12204 would be appreciated.
