Warners Lake - Wyman "Cookie" Osterhout, 84, of Warners Lake and Pinellas Park, FL passed away on June 8, 2014. On this day we lost a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and cherished friend to many. Cookie was born in Albany in 1930. He was the son of Wyman V. and Eunice Pollard Osterhout. Husband of Nancy Pitts Osterhout, father of Wendy Osterhout (Robert Clifford), Heidi Moak (Michael), Cheryl Dube (Rick Flaherty), Tammy Owen (Mark). Brother of Marilyn Reynolds and the late Walter Osterhout. Grandfather of Kelsey and Lauren Moak, Sarah and Daniel Owen, Tess and Jake Dube, and Leah Clifford. Cookie attended Voorheesville High School prior to serving his country as a Marine in the Korean War. Upon returning from the service he was employed as an Iron Worker, and was the owner of The Checkered Flag restaurant and bar in New Scotland. After moving to Florida in 1977 he worked for Case Power and Equipment and then owned a small business in Daytona Beach with his wife Nancy. Cookie's passion was auto racing. He was a driver with URC and raced midgets and sprint cars at tracks up and down the east coast. He also loved his motorcycle and rode his Harley up until the age of 83. Family was his priority and Cookie's greatest joy was when everyone was gathered together. He was truly loved and will be greatly missed. Calling hours will be Thursday, June 12, 2014 from 4 - 7 p.m. at the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, 9 Voorheesville Ave., Voorheesville.
