Obituary of Laeh Jane Cionek

GUILDERLAND - Leah Jane Barczak Cionek, 86, passed away Monday, May 5th at her home in Guilderland, NY. Leah received bother her bachelors and masters degree from The College at St. Rose and then taught Music and English for the Greater Amsterdam School District. Her husband Alfred J. Cionek Sr. of whom she married in 1950 and her sister Sylvia Barczak Gunderson who passed away earlier this year both predeceased her. Survivors include sons, Alfred Cionek Jr., (Debra) of South Glens Falls, Christopher Cionek of Guilderland and Peter Cionek (Maryanne) of Swampscott, Mass.; and grandsons, Scott Cionek (Megan) and Glenn Cionek. Friends and family are invited are invited to join us for a memorial mass that will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at St. Madeline Sophie Church, 3500 Carman Rd., Guilderland. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Amsterdam where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband. For those who wish, memorial contributions to the Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205 would be appreciated.
