Obituary of Dorothy Anne O'Connor

Colonie - Dorothy Anne Ostrander O'Connor, 87, died Thursday, March 20, 2014 at her home with her loving family by her side. Born in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late George Ostrander and Juliette Berry Ostrander. She was pre-deceased by her sister Muriel (David) Myers. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Leo F. O'Connor and her children; including sons, Leo (Paula), Steven (Rose Anne), Sean (Margaret) and James (Deborah) O'Connor and daughter, Susan (Joseph) Marcy; her grandchildren include Sarah (Patrick) Loya, Matthew O'Connor, Justin O'Connor, Ryan (Jennifer) O'Connor and Kaitlin O'Connor; and two great-grandchildren, Colin Loya and Dillon O'Connor. Dorothy Anne was a graduate of Catholic Central High School in Troy, NY. She retired from the New York State Department of Transportation in 1983. Also, she was a longtime communicant of the former Our Lady of Mercy Church in Colonie. Funeral 9:00 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2014 from the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Colonie and at 10:00 o'clock at Christ Our Light Church, 1 Maria Dr., Loudonville. Interment will be at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 - 7 p.m. in the funeral home. The family wants to extend heartfelt thanks to all of the caregivers, including Kathi, Vickie, Sharon, Kim, Amy and Lisa and workers from Hospice, including Connie and Susan. Their care and devotion to Dorothy Anne is greatly appreciated and will never be forgotten.
