Voorheesville - Robert D. Humes died on June 24, 2026.  Born in Albany NY and moved to Voorheesville NY in 1961 until 2023. Robert was predeceased by his parents, Robert S. Humes and Elinor Humes.  Robert served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict in the Military Police.  He served with the  NYS Police, with the rank of Technical Sargent, retiring in 1976. In retirement he enjoyed fencing, horseback riding, antiquing and military history.  Robert was a member of St. Mathews Church in Voorheesville.

Robert is survived his former wife, Sharon Humes of Slingerands, NY and several longtime friends.

Robert’s funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at St. Matthew’s Church, 25 Mountainview St., Voorheesville.  A calling hour will precede the mass at church from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Glenmont.  In memory of Robert and his love for horses, donations may be sent to Unbridled Sanctuary, 11 Unbridled Way, Greenville NY 12083.
