Central Bridge - Donna Lee Sutton, born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1947, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 17, 2026.

Originally from Voorheesville, NY, Donna spent the latter years of her life in her home in Central Bridge, NY, with her beloved husband, Frank Lawyer.

Donna proudly worked for New York State and the State Police as a communications specialist for more than 16 years. Before that, she worked for many years as a bookkeeper.

Donna loved hosting holidays and was known for her warmth, kindness, and contagious laugh. She never met a stranger and always had a smile to offer. She loved her family deeply, treasured her lifelong friendships and schoolmates, adored her dogs, and found joy in tending her flower gardens. She had a special appreciation for farm tractors, yard sale treasures, and the simple pleasure of a country life.

One of Donna’s greatest joys was coordinating high school reunions, helping lifelong friends stay connected through the years.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Frank Lawyer; her children, Carl Burnham and his wife Eva, Peter Ploof, and Linda Carmody and her husband Brian Carmody; her grandson Timothy Burnham; her brother, Terry Sutton and his wife Lynn; along with many friends and loved ones who will miss her dearly.

Donna was not traditionally religious, but she believed in God and carried that faith quietly in her own way throughout her life.

Her laughter, kindness, and generous spirit will be greatly missed and remembered always.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Donna’s family from 4 - 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at the Reilly & Son Funeral Home in Voorheesville.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA  22116-7023.
