Michael W. Moran Obituary
Voorheesville - Michael W. Moran, 83, died on March 24, 2026 after an extended illness. He grew up in Voorheesville and graduated from Voorheesville High School in 1961. He served in the United States Navy in Vietnam on the USS Harry Hubbard. Mike lived in Broadalbin, NY for a number of years and belonged to the Fish House Gun Club. Later, he moved back to Voorheesville to help care for his parents. He retired from Xerox as a service technician and then worked for Loomis after retirement. Mike enjoyed fishing trips to Canada and hunting in the Adirondacks and Canada. He and his brother Tim went on hunting and sightseeing trips to Idaho, Montana and Wyoming. He was a member of the Voorheesville Rod & Gun Club where he was President for several years. His niece and nephews all remember wonderful vacations at Sacandaga Lake and the Poconos with him and the rest of the family.
Mike is survived by his sister, Nancy Whichard (Bill) and family; brother, Tim Moran (Cindy) and family; and friend, Albina Murphy. His parents, John and Florine (Woodruff) Moran predeceased him.
Visitation will be Friday, March 27, 2026 from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. at the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Voorheesville. Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. at the Gerald B. H. Solomon National Cemetery. Donations may be made to the New Scotland Food Pantry, 25 Mountainview St., Voorheesville, NY 12186
