Obituary of Catherine M. Flansburg

Voorheesville - Catherine “Cathy” Flansburg, 87, of Voorheesville, New York, passed away on Monday, March 31st, 2025 peacefully surrounded by her family.

Cathy was the heart of the Flansburg family—a devoted wife to Lawrence Flansburg, loving mother to Larry Flansburg, Doreen Taylor (Mark), and Lauren Tracey, and proud grandmother of seven and great-grandmother of six. She was deeply proud of the family she built and cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Cathy had a passion for gardening, with a special love for roses and the sight of bluebirds in her yard. Her kitchen was always filled with the comforting smells of home-cooked meals, laughter, and stories. She had a way of making everyone feel cared for—always checking in on your life and your family before reminding you just how much she loved you.

She had a sharp wit, a big laugh, and a heart that never stopped giving. Her legacy is one of love, warmth, and unwavering devotion to her family.

In honor of Cathy’s memory, and in accordance with the family’s wishes, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America in lieu of flowers.

Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 4, 2025 at St. Matthew’s Church, 25 Mountainview St., Voorheesville.  Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the church Friday from 12 - 1 p.m. , prior to the mass.  Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in New Scotland.
