
Obituary of George N. Baldwin, III
Albany - George N. Baldwin, III, 76 years old, died on March 14, 2025 in Albany, NY. George was predeceased by his parents, George N. Baldwin Jr. and Beatrice Eisemann Baldwin and his brother Richard C. Baldwin. He is survived by his brother, Robert J. Baldwin (Deborah) of Xenia, Ohio; nephews Aaron M. Baldwin of Ft. McCoy, Wisconsin, and Keith Baldwin (Elizabeth) of Beavercreek, Ohio; Nieces, Abigail Baldwin-Medsker (Eric) of NY, NY and Meredith Skeens (Joshua) of Beavercreek, Ohio; and eight great nieces and nephews.
George was born, raised, and educated on Long Island, NY. He is a graduate of Wittenberg University. He is a Vietnam Veteran having served in the US Air Force as a linguist and translator. Following discharge from the Air Force he was a member of Chase Studios for over 25 years, where he contributed to the creation and installation of paleontological dioramas for installations both nationally and internationally. He later moved to Albany, NY with his beloved Bernese Mountain dog Spencer and later became deeply affiliated with the Cathedral of All Saints. He found community and solace in the church while serving as an acolyte, participating in the healing ministry and the cathedrals governing body and working at the cathedral’s gift shop. George loved the arts and reading. He enjoyed good food and thoughtful conversation. He was a graceful presence and was well loved by those who knew him.
George’s memorial service will take place on Saturday March 29th at 2pm at the Cathedral of All Saints; 62 S. Swan Street, Albany, NY. Contributions, although not necessary, may be made to any Veterans organization.
