Wayne L. Gohman Obituary

Wayne Lee Gohman

May 30, 1940 – January 29, 2025

Wayne L. Gohman, 84, of Voorheesville, N.Y. passed away peacefully on January 29th, 2025. Born in Sherburne County, M.N., Wayne was the son of the late Les and Ellen Gohman. Growing up in St. Cloud, with 3 brothers and 2 sisters, Wayne devoted himself to service from an early age. After graduating from Technical High School in St. Cloud, Wayne joined the Navy, flying missions in the early 60’s and sharing drinks with John McCain as they served on the USS Forrestal, flying A-4 Skyhawks. After leaving the Navy, Wayne spent 33 years with American Airlines working in the Airline Transport Division, keeping operations running smooth through rain, sleet, and snow. The true light of Wayne’s life was his wife, Barbara. Married on August 24, 1963, Wayne was the definition of a devoted husband and partner. Wayne and Barbara spent the next 61 years, side by side, living life to the fullest, collecting cars and figurines, and bringing joy to everyone’s life they touched. One of the greatest generation, kind and honorable, Wayne will live forever in the memories of all that knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara, his brothers Glen, Gary, and Carl, and his sisters, Cynthia and Mavis, his in laws, Nick and Jo, Sam and Fran, as well as many nieces and nephews.

The Viewing will be held at Reilly & Son Funeral Home in Voorheesville on Thursday, February 6th, 2025 from 11am to 12pm.
